Yeah I appreciate that Dave and, all of our different experiences is one thing that I find make this fun and interesting. There is no denying that the open comb looks much cooler! That's just my observation on it and my experience. I found them both to shave the same and as a daily shaver I kept the SB. The benefits of an open comb are for those with longer hair being removed such as multiple day growth and concerns of clogging of the hair and lather in the razor. To me the shave felt the same as with the blade extending beyond the plane of the top cap and the base plate makes the shave the same except for what the OC is designed for. Between the straight bar and the open comb they both have the same blade torque, blade Gap and blade exposure.
